High Curly Puff
The high puff might be one of the best hairstyles that you will ever have up your sleeve. When in doubt do the high puff. It’s very versatile. You can wear it to the gym, grocery store, class, work or even someone’s wedding!
When you’re dressing casual you just need to clean up the sides, and fix your baby hairs. If you’re going to be dressing up or dressing fancy you can still do the same thing. Just slap on some makeup and jewelry and you’re good to go.
For this hairstyle you need to keep a few items handy. An elastic band that can hold your puff, a good brush that can brush your fly aways, a good gel ( I prefer eco styler gel) and an edge brush if you like to do your edges.
Sleek low Bun
Next up is the sleek, low bun. When you want to look sophisticated, but you don’t have time to let your hair dry it can be a life saver. This hairstyle especially pairs well with big earrings like hoops or chandelier types.
When I put my hair in a low bun, I like to have my hair moisturized before. I like to make sure it’s not dry to prevent breakage. You will need very similar items to the high puff for this hairstyle. These items include an elastic or two, a brush, gel and some edge control gel with a brush for your edges.
Wash and Go
This style is one you should reserve for a morning that you’re free. My 4c curly hair girls know that it takes HOURS for our hair to dry, so this isn’t the hair style you should choose if you’re in a rush.
Not to mention the process of actually doing the Wash and Go. It probably takes you at minimum an hour to put all the products in your hair and then you have to wait for it to dry. I’m not kidding when I say that for 4c curly hairstyles you do not want to choose this one as a last-minute option.
If you do have the time, this hairstyle is a classic. You will get so many compliments and it just looks good! My go to products right now for a wash and Go is Uncle Funky’s Curly Magic Gel and the Doux Mousse. Together these products will have your curls on point!
Two Puffs
If you’re tired of having the same high puff hairstyle the two puffs might be for you. This is very similar to the high puff with a twist. I like to do this hairstyle on an old wash and go.
Your curls are still intact and with some hair elastics, gel and a brush you’re good to go. I just separate my high puff into two puffs, one on each side. The parting down the middle can be even or uneven however you prefer it to be.
Faux Hawk
This was one of the first hairstyles I would always wear when I first became natural. If you’re looking for an edgy look that’s easy and different, you should definitely try the faux hawk.
It elevates any outfit and your hair doesn’t need to be freshly washed to make it happen. This hairstyle looks a little more involved, but it’s simple. You will need the gel, brushes and a decent amount of bobby pins.
Final Thoughts
These hairstyles will definitely come in handy when you have an old wash n go and you have somewhere to be and no time to wash your hair. These quick styles will help minimize your time for getting ready. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of these styles!
